1. Course goals and objectives:

  • Overall goals:

Graduates have solid background of economics, politics, culture and social issues; possess strong professional skills and attitude to succeed in their future careers, contributing to the national economy progress.

  • Specific objectives:

* Academic objectives:

On successful completion of the course, students should have developed:

  • A comprehensive understanding of economics, politics, culture and social issues.
  • A comprehensive understanding of economics development principles and the ability to apply those concepts in policy making process, organisation, supervision and management of tourism business activities.

* Generic skills:

On successful completion of the course, students should have improved the following generic skills:

  • Strategic thinking, analytical skills and problem solving skills.
  • Soft skills such as: oral communication and written communication skills, teamwork skills, foreign language skills and computer skills.

* Attitude:

On successful completion of the course, students should have improved an understanding of:

  • Morality and code of ethics in the workplace and civic responsibility;
  • Professional services skills and attitude;
  • Growth mindset and creativity mindset.

5. Eligible applicants:

In accordance with the institutional regulations for universities and colleges of the Ministry of Education and Training.

  • Academic procedures: Credit system
  • Graduation requirements: Minimum credit accumulation of 120 credits, including minimum 100 credits of mandatory subjects and 20 credits (out of 51 credits) of elective subjects.

6. Grading scheme:

  • Assignments, mid semester tests and final exams are graded on a scale of 10 in accordance with “The institutional regulations for universities and colleges using credit system” (Number 43/2007/QĐ-BGD&ĐT dated August 15, 2007 issued by the Ministry of Education and Training).
  • Subject marks are rounded to one decimal place and transferred respectively to following rankings: A, B, C, D, F, I, X.
